The Yiv a Face cross stitch pattern is as cheeky as it is luscious and elegant. The gorgeous Jacobean-era inspired botanicals are enhanced by the shimmering copper Japan Threads and copper beads scattered across the wreath. The text “Yiv a face like a skelpit erse” is a Doric Scottish insult, and translates to “You have a face like a smacked a$s.” If the text isn’t to your taste for the pattern, you could add in your own text with any of the cross stitch alphabet charts, or you could stitch the pattern without the text, there’s an example photograph showing what it looks like without text.
