Drift Art Print

Drift is a giclée art print featuring a beautiful Green Sea Turtle. This beautiful creature is drifting near the surface of the ocean, creating an unusual reflection in the water. The Green Sea Turtle is no longer listed as endangered, but it’s still at risk from human activity such as warming oceans due to climate change, and being caught as bycatch from commercial fisheries. This painting features vibrant teals and blues that are punctuated by vivid green, and contrast against the beautiful dark patterned shell of the turtle.

The original painting is painted in oils on panel, and is one of six prints in the Reflections Collection. This series was inspired by the new David Attenborough documentary “Ocean,” and was painted to raise money for the rebuilding of the Whale Interpretive Centre in Telegraph Cove (tragically lost to fire Dec 31, 2024). Currently the original paintings are for sale at the Orca Spirit Adventures gallery in Victoria BC, 50% of the sale of the originals will be donated to the WIC. The other paintings in the Reflections Collection (as seen in the photos) are Surface Curiosity, Soundings, Resonance, Tideplay, and Glidepath. All of the paintings feature a reflection in the water — this is the junction between the air and the sea, which symbolizes the connection that we all have with the marine environment. The ocean creates more than half of our planet’s oxygen, so we must do what we can to protect this fragile environment as it literally creates the conditions of life for us.

15% of the proceeds of this print will be donated to marine conservation and education organizations.

PAPER DETAILS:

Printed on Archival, Ph-neutral, OBA-free Strathmore. 400 gsm, Textured Soft-White Paper with Archival Pigment Inks.

The 8″x12″ paper print version of this art print comes with a 1/4″ white border top and bottom and the 12″x18″ and 20″x30″ paper print versions come with a 1/2″ border top and bottom for ease of framing. Please note that due to the shape of this painting, there will be slightly more border on both sides, as shown in the paper print example photo.

CANVAS DETAILS:

Professionally wrapped canvas print on satin-finish canvas. Comes with a sawtooth hanger installed. The canvas edge will be black and .75″ deep. If you’d prefer the hanger not be installed or if you’d prefer a white edge instead of black, please leave a note at checkout.

At this time, orders for delivery outside of Canada and the US must be arranged before placing an order on the website in order to get a shipping quote for your country. All added customs fees and taxes (for orders outside Canada and the US) are buyer’s responsibility.

Please allow up to seven business days to receive tracking information after placing an order. I’m a one-woman business. ❤️ The orders are being printed and shipped from a professional giclée printer in Canada.

All orders are shipped by UPS (no customs fees or duties for US or Canadian addresses). Please confirm your shipping address is correct at checkout.

In the event that you’re unhappy with your print, I will issue a full refund, minus shipping. Return shipping is buyer’s responsibility. If you receive a damaged order, please let me know within 24 hours of receipt with photographs of the damage so I can replace accordingly.
