Songbirds Art Print
Songbirds is a giclée art print featuring nine members of the Songbirds suborder of perching birds (the suborder is scientifically called Passeri). The suborder of songbirds includes a massive 4000 bird species globally, and consist of 30-35 distinct bird families (such as Corvidae, Corvids). These illustrations were created for the annual The 100 Day Project in 2025, in this case the project was 100 Days of Inked Birds. Using ink pens and watercolours, one small bird illustration was carefully created each day. This print features a Black-capped Chickadee, a Chestnut-backed Chickadee, a Carolina Wren, a White-breasted Nuthatch, a Varied Thrush, a Golden-crowned Kinglet, a Common Yellowthroat, a Long-tailed Bushtit, and a Black-throated Blue Warbler. The print features a creamy white background to give the bird illustrations a touch of a vintage vibe. Other prints in this series are Corvids, Raptors, Shorebirds, and Waterfowl. To purchase a print including all 100 birds, please go to the 100 Days of Birds art print.
15% of the profits of this print will be donated to conservation organizations such as the American Bird Conservancy.

Soundings Art Print
Soundings is a giclée art print featuring a gorgeous Humpback Whale. This majestic creature is either spyhopping or about to breach, piercing the ocean’s surface. The Humpback Whale is no longer listed as endangered, and along the Pacific Northwest coast it has made a remarkable comeback. Unfortunately, it’s still at risk from human activity such as vessel strikes in our increasingly busy waterways, and being entangled by gear from commercial fisheries (often called ghost gear).
The original painting is painted in oils on panel, and is one of six prints in the Reflections Collection. This series was inspired by the new David Attenborough documentary “Ocean,” and was painted to raise money for the rebuilding of the Whale Interpretive Centre in Telegraph Cove (tragically lost to fire Dec 31, 2024). Currently the original paintings are for sale at the Orca Spirit Adventures gallery in Victoria BC, 50% of the sale of the originals will be donated to the WIC. The other paintings in the Reflections Collection (as seen in the photos) are Surface Curiosity, Drift, Resonance, Tideplay, and Glidepath. All of the paintings feature a reflection in the water — this is the junction between the air and the sea, which symbolizes the connection that we all have with the marine environment. The ocean creates more than half of our planet’s oxygen, so we must do what we can to protect this fragile environment as it literally creates the conditions of life for us.

Surface Curiosity Art Print
Surface Curiosity is a giclée art print featuring a gorgeous California Sea Lion. This curious creature is swimming at the surface of the ocean, creating a striking reflection in the water. The California Sea Lion is not listed as endangered, but it’s still at risk from human activity such as warming oceans due to climate change affecting their food sources, as well as algal blooms and entanglements in commercial fishing gear (often called ghost gear). This painting features vibrant teals that contrast against the expressive pale sky and sparkling reflections. An easy way to tell the difference between Steller Sea Lions and California Sea Lions on a beach other than their size and colouring (as they’re often found fishing together) is their sounds — California Sea Lions make a “barking” sound, and Steller Sea Lions make a low deep loud roaring/grumbling sound. Stellers are also much bigger than Californias, they can be over twice the size and males can weigh over a ton.

This part of Victoria is called “Old Town” and features many wonderfully colourful and architecturally beautiful buildings. Tideplay Art Print
Tideplay is a giclée art print featuring several playful Steller Sea Lions. These massive creatures are swimming just under the surface of the ocean, creating a unique reflection in the water. Steller Sea Lions are endangered in parts of the US (or “Special Concern” in other locations), and they are very vulnerable to human activity such as warming oceans due to climate change, oil spills, and being entagled by gear from commercial fisheries (also known as ghost gear). This painting features deep blues and greens, punctuated by oranges as the sunlight reflects off their sandy-rust coloured bodies. Fun fact, an easy way to tell the difference between Steller Sea Lions and California Sea Lions on a beach other than their size and colouring (as they’re often found fishing together) is their sounds — California Sea Lions make a “barking” sound, and Steller Sea Lions make a low deep loud roaring/grumbling sound.
