I love helping people learn to stitch, it’s such a relaxing hobby, and playing with lots of gorgeous embroidery floss colours and fabrics is just so much fun. Recently I’ve had a lot of people asking how to complete a full project — I have a lot of tutorials on this site and YouTube, but they’re all very specific individual skills that aren’t necessarily connected to other tutorials. So with a little nudging to put together a full course, I’m really happy to announce that I’m now offering full stitching classes! The first is this pretty floral monogram embroidery hoop.
In this class you’ll learn absolutely everything you’ll need to know about how to complete this pretty little project, from choosing your fabric and embroidery floss, to how to anchor your thread, to the three stitches featured in this pattern (backstitch, leaf stitch, and woven wheel roses). You’ll also learn how to finish off the back of your hoop to protect the stitching and make it perfect for gifting. The pattern for this project is exclusive to this class, and of course it comes with a full alphabet chart for your monogram.
This first class is featured on Skillshare, it’s a great platform with thousands of classes (and lots of awesome arty and crafty ones), there’s so much to learn. If you aren’t already a Skillshare member you can sign up for a free 2 month trial using this link (hoorayyy):

I’ve done some great classes on Skillshare (even my Go Bloom Yourself collection was inspired by some botanical drawing classes I did on Skillshare), there’s so much you can learn. Even if you don’t want to continue after the free trial, no worries, I’d love to see you in there during your trial stitching up this pretty project! And PS, it’s just little (the hoops shown are 4″ hoops), so it makes a great gift. I’ve even got tips in the class for how you can adjust it to use it for weddings (with two monograms). Just in case you get any wedding invitations this year and are buggered if you know what you want to get them…. 😂
Let me know in the comments below what class you’d like to see next! Or, you can leave your feedback and join in the fun on this post in the Peacock Lounge Facebook group. Would you like an introductory cross stitch class, another hand embroidery class…. 🙂
